Voltaire gratuliert dem Marquis und dessen Frau zur Geburt eines Kindes, berichtet, daß er selbst das Glück der Elternschaft nur als Idee kenne, aber Mademoiselle Corneille nun verheiratet habe, die ihm den kleinen Dienst erweisen werde, ihn in einigen Monaten zum Großvater zu machen.
Vor 6 Wochen habe er dem Marquis von Maultiertreibern einige Bände seiner neusten Werke überbringen lassen, fürchte aber, daß sie nicht angekommen seien, da der Marquis den Empfang nicht bestätigt habe. Es gebe allerdings in Turin, wie man ihm gesagt habe, noch ungetreuere Leute als die Maultiertreiber, die Bücher beschlagnamten ohne Respekt vor dem Adressaten. Dennoch sei er weit davon entfernt zu glauben, daß man dort die Menschenrechte derart zu vergewaltigen wage.
Demnächst reise ein Engländer von Genf nach Turin. Ihm werde er Bücher für den Marquis anvertrauen - allerdings nur Prosa. Verse zu schmieden, das sei schwerer als Kinder zu machen. Lieber pflanze er tausend Bäume, als daß er tausend Verse dichte...

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
