Bestandsbeschreibung: Die Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Fakultät (auch Naturwissenschaftliche oder Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlich-Technische Fakultät) entstand durch Abspaltung von der Philosophischen Fakultät und ist durch ministerielle Weisung vom 20. März 1923 bestätigt (vgl. Chronik der Universität Halle-Wittenberg 1916-1926, S. 78).
Die im Bestand befindlichen Akten umfassen den Zeitraum von der Bildung der Fakultät bis zur 3. Hochschulreform (1923-1969) und in Teilen darüber hinaus bis 1997. Die Abgabe ersten an das Archiv erfolgte 1967, 1969 und 1970.
