Vor Oktober 1919 (Bers, Straßen, S. 95) oder ab etwa 1916 (Spelthahn, Jül. Str.namen 50 v. 8.2.1989) wurde die Verlängerung der Bongardstraße als Hindenburgstraße ausgebaut (im Plan 1923 ist sie bereits enthalten). Am 27.1.1949 erfolgte die Umbenennung in Friedrich-Ebert-Straße. (Fotomaterial bei Neumann, Fotos, S. 76-77; Luftbild S. 77.- Neumann, Postkarten, S. 110) Dinstühler Straßen: Friedrich-Ebert-Straße seit 27.01.1949 bis > 2000 Kernstadt zuvor: Hindenburgstraße Friedrich Ebert (1871-1925), SPD-Vorsitzender, Reichspräsident 1919-1925. - Die Umbenennung der Hindenburgstraße erfolgte auf Direktive des Kontrollrats hin. Schon 1926 hatte der spätere Jülicher Bürgermeister Josef Hommen beantragt, eine Straße nach Ebert zu benennen. Dies war aber im Hauptausschuss mit der Begründung abgelehnt worden, dass „in erster Linie heimatgeschichtliche Namen bei Straßenbenennungen berücksichtigt werden sollten.“* Die Entscheidung war kurz darauf im Stadtrat vertagt, später aber nicht mehr aufgegriffen worden.** * Hauptausschuss v. 19.10.1926; ** Jülicher Kreisblatt und Vorgängerzeitungen v. 24.11.1926, ediert von Bers, Straßenumbenennungen, S. 235f.

When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person.
