Vorwort: A Rep. 407 Polizeiamt Wilmersdorf
Die Polizeiverwaltung über die Gemeinde Wilmersdorf übte zunächst der Amtsvorsteher, nach Übertragung des Stadtrechts 1906 der Polizeipräsident in Schöneberg aus. Nach der Bildung von Groß-Berlin 1920 wurde für den neuen Verwaltungsbezirk Wilmersdorf ein Polizeiamt errichtet. 1931 wurde es mit dem Polizeiamt Schöneberg zusammengelegt.
Die Überlieferung befand sich vor 1945 im Geheimen Staatsarchiv; 1950 gelangte sie in das Brandenburgische Landeshauptarchiv und wurde von dort 2001 an das Landesarchiv Berlin übergeben.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

In the sources, the persecuted person is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
