Enthält: - Vorgängerbau brannte 1712 ab. Herzog Adolf Friedrich IV. von Mecklenburg-Strelitz ließ 1726-1731 ein Schloss als Fachbauwerk errichten, der ab 1755 als dreigeschossiger barocker Putzbau umgestaltet wurde. Ab 1733 wurde Neustrelitz als Residenzstadt ausgeschaltet. 1817 Umbau des Schlosses klassizistischen Stil. Weitere bauliche Veränderungen erfolgten 1865-1869 und Erweiterungen 1905-1909. Der 1732 angelegte barocke Schlosspark wurde mehrfach umgestaltet. In ihm stehen der Luisentempel (1891), der Hebetempel (1840), Brunnen und Großvasen. Bis !934 waren im Schloss Räume für den Landtag und das Landesmuseum. 1945 wurden Schloss, Theater und Palais durch Brandstiftung völlig zerstört und danach abgetragen. Es blieben nur die Schlosskirche (1855-1859) im neogotischen Stil und die Orangerie (1755) im klassizistischen Stil erhalten.
