Der Aufschrift auf der ursprünglichen Mappe zufolge hat der Vortrag den Titel "Theology of the Suffering God" und wurde von Hans Jonas 1965 vor Rabbinern in New York gehalten. Beigegeben sind zwei Zettel zur Textgenese (HJ 1-8-30). Das Stück HJ 1-8-33 ist eine mit hs. Korrekturen versehene masch. Vorfassung und Stück HJ 1-8-34 eine hs. Vorstufe dazu. Zwei masch.
