Das Lager diente dazu, aus den Menschen das Höchstmögliche herauszuschinden. 1943 ging man dazu über, die Häftlinge in Flugzeugfabriken, Textil- und anderen Industriefabriken arbeiten zu lassen. Die 7 oder 8 Arbeitsgruppen wurden 1943 auf 37 vergrößert und 1944 auf 80. 1944 wurden mehr Arbeitsgruppen gebildet; die Ausbeuterei wurde B-Maßnahme genannt. Jeden Tag starben infolge dieser Arbeit 80 Menschen aus 5 000. Das erste Kommando dieser Art war Hersbruck b. Nürnberg, das unter Tage angelegt war, um einen Tunnel bauen zu können. Das zweite Kommando dieser Art war in Leitmeritz es arbeitete für eine Privatfirma. Ein Nebenkommando dieses Kommandos, das für die gleiche Fa. gleiche Bedingen arbeitete, war Richard II.
