Vorwort: P Rep. 480 Standesamt Spandau
Das Standesamt der Stadt Spandau nahm zum 01. Oktober 1874 seine Tätigkeit auf. Ab dem 01. Mai 1910 galt die Bezeichnung "I Spandau" für das Amt, in das 1921 die Standesämter Ruhleben, Pichelsdorf und Spandau-Zitadelle eingingen; daneben gab es die Standesämter "II Spandau-Siemensstadt" und "III Spandau-Haselhorst". Ab dem 01. Juli 1938 reduzierte sich die Amtsbezeichnung wieder auf [Berlin-] "Spandau". Das Amt nahm 1942 die Sprengel der aufgelösten Standesämter Kladow, Staaken und Siemensstadt in sich auf. Seitdem ist es - hinsichtlich der Gemeinde Staaken aufgrund der politischen Entwicklungen mit einer zeitlichen Unterbrechung (1951 bis zum 02. Oktober 1990) - für den Bezirk Spandau zuständig.
Allgemeiner Hinweis: Die Personenstandsregister, Namensverzeichnisse und Sammelakten werden erst nach Ablauf der gesetzlichen Fortschreibungsfristen von 110 Jahren (Geburten), 80 Jahren (Eheschließungen) bzw. 30 Jahren (Sterbefälle) archiviert. Der Überlieferungsstand im Landesarchiv Berlin entspricht diesen Vorgaben mit einer möglichen Verzögerung von ein bis zwei Jahren.
The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

‘Verfolgt’ refers to a person who submitted a compensation claim for damage caused by Nazi persecution. If the application was submitted by a person other than the persecuted person, this other person is designated as ‘antragstellend’ and their relationship to the persecuted person, if there is one, is noted. In the sources, the persecuted person is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
