Es thut mir aufrichtig
leid, dass Sie in Ihrem jungen
Verein, mit so viel Schwierig-
keiten zu kämpfen haben,
aber das haben wohl alle
durchzumachen. Aller An-
fang ist schwer, lassen Sie
nur den Mut nicht sinken,
liebe gnädige Frau, son-
dern harren Sie aus um
der Sache willen. Ich vertrat
stets die Ansicht, dass ein
junger Verein sich auf ge-
meinnützige Arbeit auf-
bauen muß. Wenn die
Damen erst einen Ein-
blick thun, ins Soziale haben,
dann kommt ihnen das
Verständnis für das, was
die Frauenbewegung
will, viel eher. Versuchen
Sie dann vielleicht später
einmal mit der Lektüre einiger
Frauenschriften, die Sie in
Ihrem Verein cirkulieren
lassen, zur Erweckung des
Interesses! Ich habe beobachtet,
dass dies Mittel meist wirk-
sam ist. Bitte, halten Sie
meinen Rat nicht für auf-
dringlich, sondern glauben Sie
mir, dass er nur aufrichti-
gem Interesse entspringt.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

‘Verfolgt’ refers to a person who submitted a compensation claim for damage caused by Nazi persecution. In the sources, the persecuted person is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
