Vorwort: 1. Herkunft und Beschreibung des Bestandes
Der kleine Teil der überlieferten privaten Unterlagen von Generalvikar Dr. Peter Eck (1802 - 1868) umfaßt nur Zeugnisse, Schriftstücke zur Verleihung von kirchlichen Ämtern sowie zwei Einladungen. Die Unterlagen wurden vor der Mülltonne gerettet und aufgekauft. Der Verbleib des übrigen Nachlasses ist nicht bekannt.
2. Zur Person
Peter Eck wurde am 24. Februar 1802 in Dietendorf geboren. Am 06. September 1826 wurde er zum Priester geweiht. Peter Eck war zunächst Kaplan in Burgebrach und am Dom in Bamberg (1827). Seit 1830 war er Religionslehrer am kgl. Gymnasium in Bamberg und Rektor am Aufseesianum, bevor er 1834 Pfarrer in Rattelsdorf wurde. Nach vier Jahren als Regens am Bamberger Priesterseminar (ab 1841) wurde er zum 17. Januar 1845 zum Domkapitular in Bamberg ernannt. Bis 1847 war er auch gleichzeitig Dompfarrer. 1856 wurde Peter Eck Generalvikar, 1863 Dompropst. Er verstarb am 02. Juni 1868.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
