Geschichte des Bestandsbildners: Das 1858 in Jever eingerichtete Amtsgericht war zuständig für die Stadt Jever und den gleichnamigen Amtsbezirk. Mit 23.724 Einwohnern war er damals der zweitgrößte des Herzogtums. Die Reform von 1879 änderte an seinem Zuschnitt nichts, wohl aber wuchs im Nordosten um das preußische Wilhelmshaven ein Siedlungsschwerpunkt heran, der 1902 in Bant (später Rüstringen) ein eigenes Amtsgericht erhielt, das bald mehr Bewohner betreute als das alte Amtsgericht. Das Amtsgericht Jever umfasste nach der Gebietsreform 1933 die Stadtgemeinde Jever und die Landgemeinden Wangerland, Wangerooge, Minsen, Kniphausen und Oestringen mit rund 28.200 Einwohnern. Der Sprengel erfuhr auch in der Folgezeit - sieht man von einer Ausdehnung des Stadtgebiets von Wilhelmshaven ab - keine Änderung. Das Amtsgericht ist zuständig für die Gemeinden Jever, Nordseebad Wangerooge, Sande, Schortens, Wangerland und die gemeindefreie Insel Minsener Oldeoog, in denen über 55.000 Menschen leben.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
