Das Forstamt Seligenstadt wurde im Jahr 1996 im Rahmen der Strukturreform aufgelöst. Neben dem Forstamt Babenhausen übernahm auch das Forstamt Neu-Isenburg einen Teil der bislang vom Forstamt Seligenstadt betreuten Waldflächen.
Teile des ehemaligen Forstamts Seligenstadt bilden nach der Umwandlung der Hessischen Landesforstverwaltung in den Landesbetrieb Hessen-Forst im Jahr 2001 das Forstrevier Nr. 220 Seligenstadt des Forstamts Langen.
