Der neue Londoner Bürgermeister Boris Johnson hat deutsche Vorfahren - seine Urururgroßmutter Karoline von Rottenburg ist die uneheliche Tochter von Paul Prinz von Württemberg (1785-1852). Karoline von Rottenburg heiratete den Freiherrn Karl Maximilian von Pfeffel.
Vor über 170 Jahren, am 16. Februar 1836, heiratete in der bischöflichen Hauskapelle in Augsburg die im fünften Monat schwangere Adelheid Pauline Karoline von Rottenburg den Freiherrn von Pfeffel, Karl Maximilian Es sind die Urururgroßeltern von Boris Johnson.
Johnson ist über das Königshaus Württemberg um ein paar Ecken mit Queen Elizabeth und Prince Charles verwandt. Das Tafelsilber von Großmutter Irene war einst ein königliches Geschenk. Johnsons Urururgroßmutter Karoline, die als Mädchen bei ihrem Vater Prinz Paul lebte, bekam das Silber von ihrem Onkel Wilhelm, dem König von Württemberg, geschenkt.
Der britische Fernsehsender BBC begleitete ihn bei seiner Ahnenforschung.

Step 7 - Royal Family files
Prince Paul of Wurttemberg was part of the Royal House of Wurttemberg. The Wurttemburg royal family files are held at the Stuttgart archive. In some cases the descendents of the Royal Houses may have private archives relating to their ancestors. But local archives should have some idea of where royal files are kept if they are not stored within their own buildings.
With the help of Dr Keyler from the Archive, we found surprisingly detailed files that explicitly connected Caroline to her father, Prince Paul. One file revealed that Caroline had actually lived with Prince Paul. Another showed that Prince Paul's brother, the King of Wurttemberg, was a supportive and loving uncle.
The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.
