Paul Bayer (1896 - 1982) war der Vater der Begründerin des Nürnberger Spielzeugmuseums. Er hatte zwei Brüder, von denen der Ältere zu den ersten Gefallenen des 1. Weltkriegs zu rechnen ist und der Jüngere starb 1920 offenbar an den Folgen einer Blinddarm-OP. Beruflich war er Elektroingenieur und in dieser Funktion bis 1933 bei den Würzburger Stadtwerken und wieder ab 1950 in leitender Funktion tätig. 1933 - 1945 war er in leitender Funktion am Großkraftwerk Nürnberg tätig. 1945 - Ende 1947 war er in Internierungshaft. Aus der Nachkriegszeit sind in dem Nachlas viele Briefe von Ihm, Angehörigen und Freunden.Umfangreicher Nachlass (Korrespondenz, Fotos, etliche Gegenstände, v.a. aus der Zeit der Internierung) des Nürnberger Ingenieurs Paul Bayer sen. (1896-1982) sowie seiner Brüder Friedrich ("Fritz", 1892-1914) und Johann ("Hans", 1888-1920) sowie aus seiner beruflichen Zeit.
