Bestandsinformationen: Das "Hauptarchiv Zerbst" ist ein im 18. Jahrhundert entstandenes Auslesearchiv, in dem zu einigen ausgewählten relevanten Angelegenheiten Archivalien verschiedener Behörden zusammengefasst worden sind. Der Pertinenzbestand umfasst Akten der fürstlichen Kabinette, des Geheimen Rates, der Landesregierung, der Kammer und des Konsistoriums. Bei der Bildung des Hauptarchivs wurden die Akten nach einer Mischung aus Sach-, Aufgaben- und Herkunftsprinzip gegliedert.
Gemeinsam mit den anderen Anhalt-Zerbster Beständen wurde es in das 1872 neu gegründete Anhaltische Haus- und Staatsarchiv Zerbst übernommen.
In den 30er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts sind die Konsistorialakten aus dem "Hauptarchiv Zerbst" herausgelöst und dem entsprechenden Provenienzbestand zugeordnet worden.
Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs wurden aus Sicherheitsgründen zahlreiche Bestände des Anhaltischen Staatsarchiv Zerbst, darunter auch das Hauptarchiv Zerbst, an andere Orte ausgelagert. Eine nicht unerhebliche Anzahl dieser Akten ist verloren gegangen bzw. gilt seit Kriegsende als verschollen. Vereinzelt ist davon auch der vorliegende Bestand betroffen.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.
