Form und Inhalt: Der Bestand umfasst die Akten der Intendanz. Der zeitliche Schwerpunkt der Akten ist nach 1970. Teilweise handelt es sich um vertrauliche Personalunterlagen und diverse Streitfälle. Diese sind nur nach Absprache mit der Archivleitung freizugeben. Zum Bestand gehören auch Protokolle der Intendantentagungen, Direktorenbesprechungen oder sonstige Sitzungsprotokolle. Bei einem weiteren Teil der Akten handelt es sich um Sachakten, die sich mit unterschiedlichen Aspekten des Bayerischen Rundfunks befassen, z.B. Rundfunkgesetz, Rundfunkpolitik, Studios des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Programmkonzepte, Kulturhilfe, Finanzausgleich oder Neuordnung des Fernsehens.
Die internen Schriftwechsel geben Einblick in die Arbeit der darunterliegenden Direktionen und Abteilungen sowie die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Rundfunkrat. Der externe Schriftwechsel beinhaltet Korrespondenz mit Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauern - dieser Bestand wurde sehr detailliert mit Thema der Kritik bzw. des Anliegens verzeichnet, ebenso die Hörerpost. Der Schriftwechsel mit anderen ARD-Anstalten aber auch der Bundesregierung betrifft vor allem Rundfunkpolitik oder Finanzfragen.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

‘Verfolgt’ refers to a person who submitted a compensation claim for damage caused by Nazi persecution. If the application was submitted by a person other than the persecuted person, this other person is designated as ‘antragstellend’ and their relationship to the persecuted person, if there is one, is noted. In the sources, the persecuted person is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
