Daß Theodor Eschenburg werden konnte, was er geworden ist, nämlich ein Nestor der politischen Wissenschaften im Nachkriegsdeutschland, verdankt er nicht zuletzt Carlo Schmid. Beide lebten während der Jahre des Neubeginns nach dem Krieg in Tübingen, beide übernahmen Ämter und Verantwortung in dem kleinen Musterland Württemberg-Hohenzollern: Carlo Schmid als Regierungschef, Theodor Eschenburg zunächst als Flüchtlingskommissar, später als Stellvertreter des Innenministers. Am kommenden Montag wäre Carlo Schmid, lebte er noch, hundert Jahre alt geworden. Im Gespräch mit der SDR-Redakteurin Sibylle Krause-Burger erinnert sich der 92-jährige Theodor Eschenburg an den großen Sozialdemokraten Carlo Schmid. (SDR-PR-Text)

BZK no.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.

This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.
