Enthält: Berndt Eschman auf der Laer vor St. Mauritz hat durch den Krieg alles verloren, er klagt, dass er seinen Kindern Kohlstrüncke habe braten und zu essen geben müssen. Er ist dann Soldat geworden und in schlechte Gesellschaft geraten. Mit den Reitern Franz Berends aus Drensteinfurt, Hans Sörgen aus Schlesien und Johan Westendorf gen. Spanier hat er Vieh und Korn gestohlen. Er bekennt in- und außerhalb der Tortur, die erst nach Feststellung von Indizien angewandt wird und zwar im Niessing-Turm. Als Zeugen werden vernommen 1. Dirich Hemmels zu St. Mauritz; 2. Henrich Krawinkel aus Telgte; 3. Herman Lütke-Mollenbeck im Kspl. Wolbeck; 4. dessen Knecht Johan Drüge, letzterer durch den Gografen Bernard Langen in Telgte. Die Frau des Angeklagten, Katharina Klüppels, die in Albachten sich aufhält, bittet um seine Entlassung. Durch Urteil vom 16.3.1643 wird er aus der Haft entlassen und der Stadt verwiesen, nachdem er Urfehde geschworen hat.
