Vorwort Dr. Rudolf Knippen (geb. 05.07.1886 in St. Hubert, gest. 21.06.1967 in Kevelaer) war von 1931-1945 Oberstudiendirektor der Fichte-Oberrealschule Krefeld. Neben seiner beruflichen Tätigkeit als Lehrer ist er schon sehr früh als Schriftsteller hervorgetreten, der neben einer Vielzahl kleinerer heimatgeschichtlicher Erzählungen, die vor allem in verschiedenen Zeitungen des Niederrheins gedruckt wurden, auch Romane und Schauspiele verfasste. Sein bekanntester Roman dürfte "Dr. Aegidius Brück. Roman eines niederrheinischen Landarztes" gewesen sein, der in mehreren Auflagen erschien. Daneben trat Knippen als Übersetzer und Herausgeber (Simplizissimus, Gottfried Keller) sowie als Mitautor eines Lehrbuches der französischen Sprache hervor. Einige seiner Arbeiten erschienen unter dem Pseudonym Rudolf Breitenberg bzw. Knippen-Breitenberg. Wann und auf welchem Wege sein Nachlass in das Stadtarchiv Kempen gelangte, ist unbekannt. Der völlig ungeordnete Nachlass wurde im Juli 1992 verzeichnet. Kassiert wurden lediglich Durchschläge literarischer Arbeiten sowie die Reste einer Wörtersammlung für ein Lehrbuch der französischen Sprache.
The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings.
