Bestandsgeschichte: Geboren am 27. April 1828 in Orel als Sohn eines Lehrers, bestand Heinrich Wilhelm Dieckmann 1853 sein theologisches Examen, er wurde 1854 P. coll. in Stade, 1864 Pastor in Gnarrenburg-Kuhstedt, 1874 Pastor in Lehe und 1884 Superintendent in Verden, wo er am 26. 11. 1903 starb. Dieckmann war bewusster Lutheraner. Er war mehrfach Mitglied der Landessynode und als Mitglied der Gesangbuchkommission einer der Väter des hannoverschen Gesangbuchs von 1883. Der teilweise kopierte Nachlass wurde dem Landeskirchlichen Archiv 1988 von Herrn R. Dieckmann geschenkt. Er enthält neben den Lebenserinnerungen Dieckmanns vor allem seinen Briefwechsel.
