Anlass: So lange wird gesungen, bis Niemand mehr im Kreise mehr im Kreise ist, also Weib, Kind, Magd, Knecht, Pferd + Wagen raus sind, dann ist das Gesang-Spiel beendet. Anfang. Beliebig viel Kinder bilden einen Kreis durch Anfassen der Hände. In der Mitte ist die Person des Bauern, der abwartet bis die erste Strophe gesungen ist. Sobald heißt "der nahm sich ein Weib", geht die im Kreise befindliche Person auf diejenige zu, die sie als "Weib" nehmen will und nimmt diese mit in den Kreis. Kommt nun Vers 3 "das Weib nahm sich ein Kind", so geht "das Weib" an die erkorene Mitspielerin heran und holt sich diese in den Kreis, so geht es bis zum Schlussvers. Kommt nun das Spiel "rückwärts" zum Singen, so dreht sich der Kreis, der solange "Rechtswendung" gemacht hat, sich nunmehr links herum.
