Vorwort: A Rep. 402 Polizeiamt Lichtenberg
Am 1. April 1908 wurde für die Stadt Lichtenberg eine Staatliche Polizeidirektion errichtet, die 1912 in den Rang eines Polizeipräsidiums erhoben wurde. Die Behörde unterstand der Dienstaufsicht des des Polizeipräsidenten von Berlin. Der 1911 eingemeindete Amtsbezirk Boxhagen-Rummelsburg gehörte bereits 1908 zum Zuständigkeitsbereich des Polizeipräsidiums Lichtenberg. Das Polizeipräsidium wurde nach der Eingemeindung 1920 zum Polizeiamt.
Die Überlieferung befand sich vor 1945 im Geheimen Staatsarchiv; 1950 gelangte sie in das Brandenburgische Landeshauptarchiv und wurde von dort 2001 an das Landesarchiv Berlin abgegeben.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

In the sources, the persecuted person is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
