Enthält: Auf Bitten der Eingesessenen von Langenich bezeugen Schultheiß, Statthalter und Schöffen des Kerpener Gerichts, dass dort am 30.7. eine Feuersbrunst stattgefunden hatte, die dem Dorf "irreparabilen Schaden" zugefügt hat. Das Feuer war am "hellen claren Tage" zwischen 10 und 11 Uhr zwischen zwei Scheunen entstanden und hatte sich so schnell ausgebreitet, dass augenblicklich das ganze Dorf außer zwei oder drei Häusern "mit einer unbeschreiblichen Menge ahn Fruchtten" in Rauch aufging. Es hat alles verzehrt, so dass sich die Leute kaum retten konnten ("mit ihrem Leib undt Leben sich kummerlich salviren konnen"). Wegen der Geschwindigkeit, mit der sich das Feuer ausbreitete, konnte man aber manches Vieh und Mobilien nicht retten. Auch wäre eine Frau "zu Pulver verbrandt", wenn sie nicht schnell ihre Kleider zerschnitten hätte und dadurch am Leben blieb, auch wenn sie jetzt noch in höchster Gefahr deswegen schwebt. Das Gericht bekundet seine Anteilnahme mit den "in Aschen gelagtter undt mehr nicht dan daß Leben davon trachter armer betrübtter Mitnachbahren deß Dorffs Langenich".
