Das Staatshochbauamt Gandersheim bestand bis zum 1. Juli 1970. Es wurde dann in das Staatshochbauamt Goslar eingegliedert.
Bestandsgeschichte: Die in dem Archivbestand 6 C Nds enthaltenen, beim Staatshochbauamt Gandersheim nach 1946 abgeschlossenen Akten, welche 1970 vom Staatshochbauamt Gandersheim (Zg. 14/1970) bzw. nach dessen Auflösung (1. Juli 1970) 1972 vom Staatshochbauamt Goslar (Zg. 4/1972) an das Staatsarchiv Wolfenbüttel abgegeben waren, wurden unter Anleitung des Unterzeichnenden durch Herrn Realschullehrer Manfred Bockelmann (ABM-Kraft) in Form eines Zettelverzeichnisses verzeichnet. Die Titelaufnahmen wurden dann fast unverändert in das vorliegende Findbuch übernommen.
Die Reinschrift des Findbuches fertigte und überprüfte der Archivangestellte Rainer Kustak, der auch die Indices bearbeitete.
Die Fertigstellung des Findbuches wurde u. a. durch eine, vom Arbeitsamt Braunschweig geförderte Arbeitsbeschaffungsmaßnahme ermöglicht, wofür an dieser Stelle ausdrücklich gedankt sei.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

In the sources, the persecuted person is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
