Was ist eigentlich Oberschwaben? Ein Land ohne festgelegte Grenzen und ohne eigene landsmannschaftliche Körperschaften. Ein Hirngespinst also und dennoch Wirklichkeit. Schon das Königreich Württemberg hatte seine liebe Not damit, Land und Leute auf Linie zu bringen. Von Stuttgart aus wurde Oberschwaben lange Zeit als eine Art Kolonie angesehen. Das Land zwischen Alb und Iller, zwischen Ulm an der Donau und Friedrichshafen am Bodensee zehrt bis heute davon, daß es sich stark nach Süden orientierte, Richtung Vorarlberg und Schweiz. Oberschwabens Schwäche, keine eigenen politischen Strukturen ausgebildet zu haben, war gleichzeitig seine Stärke, weil es im Schatten Württembergs als Kulturlandschaft Kontur gewann. Aber spielt das heute noch eine Rolle angesichts der Globalisierung?

BZK no.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.

This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

In the sources, the persecutee is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
