Vorwort: 1. Biographie
Karl Raquet wurde am 25. November 1912 in Saarbrücken geboren. Er besuchte bis 1927 die Volksschule in Saarbrücken und trat dann eine Lehre als Tischler an. 1930 musste er krankheitsbedingt diese Ausbildung abbrechen und war dann von 1934 bis 1935 als Bürogehilfe bei der Saarbrücker Stadtverwaltung tätig. Am 6. Mai 1935 trat er in die Leibstandarte der SS Adolf Hitler ein. 1939 heiratete er. Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges nahm er von 1941 bis 1944 am so genannten Russlandfeldzug teil und war dann in der Normandie eingesetzt. 1944 wurde er zum Hauptscharführer befördert. Er geriet in amerikanische Kriegsgefangenschaft und befand sich bis zum 1. April 1947 im Internierungslager Regensburg.
Von 1947 bis 1948 war er als Arbeiter und Kraftfahrer bei der Fa. Otto Thiel tätig. 1949 wurde er von der Entnazifizierungskommission Wilmersdorf entlastet.
2. Bestandsbeschreibung
Die Dokumente wurden 1984 dem Landesarchiv von Raquet geschenkt.
Enthält:
Persönliche Unterlagen (Eintritt in die SS, Mitgliedschaft in der NSDAP, Entnazifizierung).- Fotos (u. a.: Besuche Hitlers bei seiner Leibstandarte, Einmarsch in das Saargebiet, Kadettenanstalt Berlin-Lichterfelde, Besetzung der Tschechoslowakei).- Abzeichen und Auszeichnungen.
The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

In the sources, the persecuted person is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
