Tektonikbeschreibung: Für die Augenheilkunde, die bis dahin Teilgebiet der Chirurgie gewesen war, wurde 1867 eine ao., 1874 eine o. Professur geschaffen, eine eigenständige Augenklinik besteht seit 1875 (UAT 117C/231). 2005/2006 Umstruktierung der Augenklinik, die mit einem "Forschungsinstitut für Augenheilkunde" das "Department für Augenheilkunde" bildet. 2016 Neue Universitäts-Augenklinik und das dazugehörigen Forschungsinstitut für Augenheilkunde auf dem Klinikgelände Berg in Betrieb genommen, Einweihung des Neubaus 2017.
