Provenienz: Durch einen privaten Kontakt erfuhr Dr. Christoph Popp im Sommer 2008 von der Existenz älterer Unterlagen in der Justizvollzugsanstalt Mannheim. Da die JVA erst in jüngerer Zeit gegründet wurde und außerdem eine Einrichtung des Landes Baden-Württemberg ist, war älteres Schriftgut städtischer Provenienz bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt dort aus gutem Grund nicht vermutet worden. Bei der Korrespondenz mit dem technischen Leiter der JVA, Herrn Hubert Minges, stellte sich dann heraus, dass es sich um zwei Stapel Akten des Zuchthauses aus kurpfälzischer Zeit handelte, die dem Stadtarchiv zur Sichtung und Archivierung schenkungsweise angeboten und übernommen wurden. Den neuen Bestand verzeichnete im Oktober 2009 der Archivreferendar Michael Habersack unter Anleitung von Dr. Susanne Schlösser und Dr. Christoph Popp.
The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.
