Verwaltungsgeschichte/biographische Angaben: Nach der Wiederherstellung der Eigenstaatlichkeit wurde auch das frühere Thurn und Taxissche Postamt wieder eingerichtet, die daraufhin stattfindenden Verhandlungen über die Stellung dieser Post in Lübeck führten zur Konvention mit dem Fürstenvon Thurn und Taxis vom 21. Sept. 1819. Nach dem österreichisch-preußischenKrieg 1866 ging das bisherige Fürstlich Thurn und Taxissche Postamt in Lübeck zum 1. Juli 1867 auf den Preußischen Staat über, der Betrieb dieses nunmehr preußischen Postamtes wurde vom Stadt-Postamt wahrgenommen.
Die beim Thurn und Taxisschen Postamt entstandenen Akten wurden dem Stadtpostamt übergeben. Bei der Ordnung der von der Post AG 1996 dem Archiv übergebenen Akten zur Lübecker Postgeschichte wurden diese Akten gesondert verzeichnet.
