Vorwort: 1. Biographie
Otto Uhlitz wurde am 5. Januar 1923 in Spreeau, Kreis Niederbarnim geboren. Nach dem Besuch der Staatlichen Oberschule in Fürstenwalde von 1937 bis 1940 begann er eine Verwaltungslehre beim Landratsamt des Kreises Niederbarnim. Am 1. Februar 1941 begann er als Regierungsinspektoranwärter beim Regierungspräsidium in Potsdam zu arbeiten. Von 1941 bis 1945 absolvierte er seinen Wehrdienst und legte 1944 die Reifeprüfung an der Deutschen Oberschule in Lodz ab. Er studierte von 1944/45 bis 1949 Rechtswissenschaft an der Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität (ab 1946 Humboldt-Universität) in Berlin. 1946 wurde er Mitglied der SPD. 1953 war er Gerichtsreferendar am Kammergericht und seit 1954 Gerichtsassessor am Landgericht Berlin. Im Mai 1954 wurde Uhlitz zum Abgeordnetenhaus versetzt und war dort seit 1956 Justitiar. 1958 und 1959 wirkte er als kommissarischer Direktor des Abgeordnetenhauses.
Im Mai 1959 wurde er Leiter der Allgemeinen Abteilung der Senatskanzlei und Justitiar des Regierenden Bürgermeisters. Von 1968 bis 1975 war er Senatsdirektor in der Senatsverwaltung für Justiz.
Otto Uhlitz starb am 19. Juni 1987 in Berlin.
2. Bestandsbeschreibung
Der Nachlass ist als Depositum im Juni 1988 dem Landesarchiv Berlin übergeben worden. Eine Benutzung ist nur mit Genehmigung der Familie möglich.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.
