Vorwort Das vorliegende Familienarchiv wurde im Dezember 1993 von den Geschwistern Agnes und Dr. Marie-Caroline (Ria) Therstappen in Nettetal-Breyell, Lobbericher Straße 19, beim Kreisarchiv Viersen hinterlegt und im Lauf des Frühjahrs 1994 von Kreisarchivamtfrau Vera Meyer-Rogmann geordnet und verzeichnet.Neben den üblichen Privaturkunden des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts enthält dieses Familienarchiv drei bemerkenswerte Archivaliengruppen:1. den Nachlass des Breyeller Bürgermeister Johann Hubert Joseph Moubis (1815-1879) mit dem Archiv des "Vereins zur Unterdrückung des Schleichhandels an der niederländischen Grenze",2. den literarischen Nachlass des Dichters Dr. Paul Therstappen (1872-1949), Biographie anlässlich der Prägung einer Gedenkmedaille des Kreises Viersen 1982 von Paul-Günter Schulte mit ergänzenden Nachrichten zu seinem Werk und 3. Quellen zur Geschichte des Kirchspiels Süchteln aus der Zeit der französischen Besetzung 1794-1814.Testamentarisch übereigneten die beide 2007 verstorbenen Schwestern Therstappen den Bestand dem Kreisarchiv.
