Der Bestand besteht aus einer Sammlung von Mandaten (im Sinne von Aufträgen, Ermächtigungen oder Verhaltensanweisungen eines Herrschenden gegenüber seinen Untertanen), Gelegenheitsgedichten, Einblatt- und sonstigen Druckwerken zur Stadt- und Landesgeschichte, das wegen des geringen Umfangs zur Erfassung in den Beständen des Stadtarchivs oder der Stadtbibliothek nicht geeignet ist. Der Erschließungsgrad umfasst - soweit bekannt - Ausstellungsort und -datum, einen kurzen Betreff als Regest und den Aussteller. Hinzu kommen z.T. die Maße, der Umfang, das Material und formelle Besonderheiten. Die Stücke stammen aus der Zeit vom 17. bis ins 20. Jahrhundert. Der Bestand ist thematisch äußerst heterogen. Er reicht inhaltlich vom markgräflichen Mandat bezüglich des Umgangs mit Vagabunden über kaiserliche Anweisungen des 18. Jahrhunderts, verschiedene Gedichte, Separatismus in der Rheinpfalz in den 1920er Jahren bis zum Aufruf Adolf Hitlers zur Beteiligung am Winterhilfswerk 1941/42 u.v.m. The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.

In the sources, the persecutee is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
