Vorwort: 1. Herkunft und Beschreibung des Bestandes
Der Nachlassteil von Domkapitular Theodor Geiger (1863-1960) wurde nach Überprüfung der Provenienz aus verschiedenen Beständen zusammengeführt.
Der Bestand umfasst zwei Archivschachteln und enthält neben wenig schriftlichem Material eine Pressedokumentation, die in den Jahren zwischen 1898 und 1915 angelegt wurde. Geiger hat hier vor allem Artikel zum Reformkatholizismus gesammelt. Hingewiesen sei auf die Sammlungen zu den beiden aus der Erzdiözese Bamberg stammenden liberalen Pfarrern Johannes Grandinger und Johannes Tremel (s. Nr. 15; 22; 24). Die Unterlagen wurden zu folgenden Gruppen zusammengefasst: 01 Biographisches Material und Handschriften, 02 Pressedokumentation, 03 Sonstige Sammlungen.
2. Zur Person
Theodor Geiger wurde am 14. August 1863 in Landshut geboren und am 23. März 1887 zum Priester geweiht. Ab 06. Juli 1887 war Geiger als Militärkaplan in Bayreuth tätig. Ab 01. November 1888 war Geiger Repetitor am Klerikalseminar in Bamberg, ab 09. November 1891 war er Subregens und 1896 wurde er Regens am Priesterseminar. Nach seiner Berufung zum Domkapitular 1911 wurde er 1913 Dompfarrer in Bamberg. Theodor Geiger verstarb am 08. März 1960.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.
