Die Spanische Treppe (137 Stufen) wurde 1721-1725 von Al. Specchi und Francesco de Sanctis geschaffen. Die Kirche SS. Trinità dei Monti - 1495 von Karl VIII. von Frankreich gestiftet - erhielt später unter Mitwirkung von Domenico Fontana die Barockfassade und wurde 1585 von Papst Sixtus V geweiht. Die Fontana della Barcaccia auf der Piazza di Spagna schuf 1627/28 Pietro Bernini (Vater Lorenzo Berninis).
