"Liebe gnädige Frau, ich möchte, obwohl Sie dort sind, nie mehr nach Deutschland kommen. Taktlosigkeit, Dummheit, Psychosen, Geschmacklosigkeit kann ich nicht mehr ertragen. Ich kann auch nicht mehr für diese respektlosen Trottel schreiben. Ich will weit und für lange weg. Wie können Sie glauben, daß ein Schriftbild in mir das Bild verändert, das mir Ihr Gesicht gegeben hat? Ich fürchte, Sie sind auf dem Weg, die Berliner Schwindeleien von Klages und Schermann zu glauben. Ich halte was von dem Eindruck, den mir eine Schrift vermittelt, aber es ist gottlos, aus der Schrift sich ein Urteil über den Schreiber zu bilden. Überlassen Sie das dem Uhu und der Koralle, bzw. der 'metaphysischen Koralle', die Ullstein bald gründen wird, dem 'Zuge der Zeit' folgend. Ein himmlisches 'Tempo' sehe ich schon kommen.
