Ersterwähnung: 1136 "1136 bestätigte der Kölner Erzbischof Bruno II. (1131-1137) der klösterlichen Niederlassung St. Pantaleon in Königsdorf den halben Zehnten der Kirche in "Borno". 1304 war Rutger, 1421-74 Heinrich Slecht Pfarrer (im Index Pastorum (Pfarrarchiv) sind alle Pfarrer von 1421 an verzeichnet). Anfangs waren die Vasallen der Abtei St. Pantaleon in Köln Kollator; 1484 wurde die Kirche dem 1479 gestifteten Kreuzherrenkloster Brüggen inkorporiert. Priester des Klosters waren seitdem Pfarrer von Born, zu dem Brüggen gehörte. Die Pfarre lag im Dekanat Wassenberg der Lütticher Diözese. Nach dem Konkordat Pius VII. mit Napoleon kam das linksrheinische Gebiet zum neuen Bistum Aachen. 1804 erhielt dieses seine Organisation. Dabei wurde BornFiliale der neuen Pfarre Brüggen. 1805 wurde diese geteilt und so Born wieder Pfarre. 1837 wurde Born Pfarre im Dekanat Kempen des Bistums Münster, 1927 im neuen Dekanat Dülken und 1973 im neuen Dekanat Brüggen-Schwalmtal , 1993 umbenannt in Dekanat Schwalmtal. - Lüttelbracht-Genholt ist seit 1.
