Der Bestand umfasst zwischen 1369 und 1802 entstandene Akten und Urkunden des Klosters St. Maria in Bethlehem, das auf der östlichen Seite der Römergasse lag. Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts wurde hier ein Armenhaus gegründet, bei dem sich eine Beginengemeinschaft angesiedelte. Sie nahm 1430 die Regel der Franziskanertertiarinnen an. 1477 vereinigte sich die Gemeinschaft mit dem südlich gelegenen Wolframskonvent und gliederte sich zwei Jahre später dem Klarissenorden an. 1643 ordnete sich der Konvent St. Maria in Bethlehem erneut einer anderen Regel unter, nämlich der reformierte Regel des hl. Franziskus. 1802 wurde das Kloster aufgelöst und die Gebäude noch vor 1828 abgetragen.
Der Bestand enthält 24 chronologisch gereihte Urkunden, die aus den Jahren 1369-1725 stammen. Weiterhin sind 6 Akten erhalten, darunter auch ein Empfangs- und Ausgaberegister für die Jahre 1795-1802 (A 1).
The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings.
