"In order that the municipal, city, district and other municipal archives are perceived in the increasingly digital world and that interested parties can find on the Internet not only the state records in Archive Portal D, it is essential that the non-state archives participate in Archivportal D as broadly as possible".

As the memory of the city, the Stadtarchiv-ISG is responsible for all analogue and digital documents on the history of Mannheim. A total of about 14 km of files and official books are kept.

In the archive portal-D the State Main Archive of Saxony-Anhalt is present with the entirety of its online usable indexing information. It thus uses the national archive portal as a second mainstay alongside its own online research.
