On March 18, 2019, project team representatives from the Federal Archives, the State Archives of Baden-Württemberg and FIZ Karlsruhe - Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure presented the project structure and first results after about nine months of project duration during a one-day workshop in the Federal Archives Koblenz.

The Saxon State Archives were established according to the "Act on the Modernisation of the Saxon Administration and the Simplification of Administrative Laws" on 1 January 2005. It comprises the departments Central Tasks/Principle (with Archive Centre Hubertusburg), Main State Archive Dresden (with State Branch Archive Bautzen), State Archive Leipzig, State Archive Chemnitz and Bergarchiv Freiberg.

After numerous other regional churches, the Protestant Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck (EKKW) founded its own archive in 1994. The church books from almost all parishes of the EKKW are used here.

The town archive consists of the final archive, the building file archive and the administrative archive (intermediate archive). In total, it currently holds about 7 500 running metres of records. of archival, written and collection material.
